DAILY POLICY REMINDERS
  • Buses begin unloading at 7:00 AM every morning.
  • Parent Drop-Off begins every morning at 7:10 AM.
  • No student may be dropped off in the office or in the front of the school each morning.
  • School officially starts at 7:50 AM each day.
  • Students are counted as EARLY OUT before 2:55 PM.
  • Students are TARDY at 7:50 AM and must be signed in through the main office.
  • Students MAY NOT be signed out after 2:30 PM.
  • Students will have to make up unexcused minutes AFTER SCHOOL.
  • Parents and visitors MUST check in at the main office any time on campus.
  • Cafeteria balance should not exceed $20.00 (preferably $10.00).

Registration

To Register your child at Vernon Middle School, you need to come to the School's Office with the following:

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. Social Security Card
  3. Immunization Records
  4. Previous School(s) Records (if possible) or Report Cards
HOT TOPICS AT VMS
  • *VMS Food Bank Project
    VMS partners with the local food bank to offer food to needy families. Please contact Mrs. Sturm at 337- 238- 1505 for assistance. All inquiries are confidential.
  • *Food Drive
    Our canned and non-perishable food drive begins on Monday, November 27 and goes until Tuesday, December 12.
  • Sixth Grade Christmas Lunch
    Sixth Grade Christmas Lunch is this Wednesday, December 13. If you returned your reservation to attend, please be at the school at the assigned time with correct change for your meal ($4.80). The count has already been turned in, so we cannot accept anymore reservations at this time. Each student was able to invite up to two guests.

  • Jean Day
    Students may wear blue denim jeans for $1.00 this Friday, December 15. They may also wear a Christmas shirt for an additional $1.00,if they would like to do so. All clothing must be sized appropriately and meet all VP Dress Code specifications.
  • Christmas Program
    Wednesday, December 20, we have a Christmas Program at 9:0 AM in the gym. Everyone is invited to attend.
  • End of Six Weeks
    The 3rd Six Weeks ends Wednesday, December 20.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences
    Thursday, December 21, we have Parent-Teacher Conferences from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Conference notes went home on Monday, December 11. Please return that form to your child's teacher with your requested time, if needed. Students do not have school that day.
  • Christmas/Winter Break
    The Christmas/Winter Break for students is Thursday, December 21 until Friday, January 5. All students return to school on Monday, January 8.
